William Ferguson Thomson (March 23, 1914 – August 6, 1993) was an ice hockey player who was born in Troon, Scotland. He represented Canada in the 1936 Winter Olympics, winning the silver medal. Thomson played nine games professionally in the National Hockey League for the Detroit Red Wings.

Thomson was a member of the 1936 Port Arthur Bearcats, which won the silver medal for Canada in ice hockey at the 1936 Winter Olympics. He scored seven goals in eight games to help Team Canada win the silver Olympic medal.

In 1987 he was inducted into the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame as a member of that Olympic team.[1]
